After deciding to go camping boxing day with some friends we had 4 nights camping in Eyrewall, Canterbu
ry. The first few days were wet and misty but the weather cleared and it got hot! We even survived 4 days without a shower but enjoyed a swim at the pool in Oxford and going to the Ashley Gorge for a dip in the river.
New Years day we took a drive to Lake Benmore, just out of Twizel in Canterbury/Otago and spent 3 nights camping or should I say glamping as we were with others who had everything you could possibly want to make camping easier.
and our tent got a little hammered by torrential rain and wind the second night....
but the sun came out the next morning and everything dried out and with a little tape all was easily fixed! It was a great time and the boys loved all the things we did and Sago certainly loved the travel.
So I am also pleased its not another thing to cross off my
30 before 30 list!!
