My very own dolls house
I have for quite a while now wanted a dolls house and never having had one when I was a little girl I brought myself a dolls house. I had Master B ask why someone had forgotten to buy me one when I was little (adorable!). It was second hand from Trade Me and it came with some furniture and a few dolls.
I gave it a paint. - a few coats to cover some browns/reds/purple it has been painted previously. And after a trip to Resene for paint it is now Spanish White, excluding the sliding doors and windows and the feature wall in the bedroom painted Vista Blue- which matches perfectly with the fabric I made little blankets from for the beds from Sew Pretty. (also made 2 mattresses, set of sheets, pillows with cases)
I am really enjoying seeing the boys play pretend with the people and actually sitting down and playing house with each other and being so creative with their imaginations, and it also makes me notice how sturdy boys toys are made! Its a win for me and them!

Sew Sew!
Its been a busy last few days for me.
Three quilts done! I really dislike the method of binding and it took so long to cut, iron in half then again to have 1/2 inch wide binding I only had to sew once (minus the few times I have to re sew) might just stick to the old way of doing it- iron binding in half, sew on back, fold over and sew again.
I have started a Christmas table runner using the fabrics I found last week. I am using a few of the blocks from The Farmers Wife Sampler Quilt.
I have also set the challenge of a $10 limit for Christmas for everyone for gifts (helping the boys not get so many toys for Christmas). I have a long list of projects to finish before Christmas as well as the list of things to make for Christmas gifts.
I have started making a set of adorable felt citrus coasters and also tempted to make these felt apple coasters for myself!
I started making these felt plum puddings last year, so making another set this year for gifts
Off to craft group tonight, time to start another quilt and get the other Christmas blocks done!

Farmers Wife Sample Quilt Progress
I am finding it easier to flick through the Farmers Wife Sample Quilt book and pick the blocks that at the moment look easy/ require the least amount of effort and that I have the perfect fabric combination for in my fabric box until I gain more confidence with triangles/other shapes that I am required to make!
I got 5 made in one evening.
Now to get more templates printed and fabric cut. now just 103 to go!!

Circle Quilt progress
I have had a productive last week working on the circle quilt. Feeling pretty impressed with my self that [a] the semi circles are easier than I expected to sew back into the block [b] it all lines up pretty well [c] that I love the fabric choices I made!
Backing fabric arrived today from Stitchworks and I am really happy with the colour and its also 2.7m wide so the back will just be one large piece of fabric.
Just deciding now if the front needs a white boarder around the circles before I have to cut off all my loose threads and iron (again) then basting and quilting starts!

Starting another quilt- Rainbow Quilt
I have started a quilt, this time for friends expecting a baby early next year.
I had an idea (more scribbled down an idea just before going to sleep one night) and the plan is to have it like this... a Rainbow quilt
So after sorting through my fabrics/scraps this is my fabric selection and you can see the way I laid it out is more or less my scribbled idea and it looks like a rainbow!
