Project Life 2014 Week Thirty-three

I've been busy playing catch up for the past month's Project Life pages (argh!!!!!). It feels good to get back on track and very glad to be keeping track of the week in a note book- for occasions such as this!

I am really enjoying all the sunshine. We got to venture to Godley Head and Sumner Beach. Not warm enough to be in the water but great weather to picnic and play in the sand.

I got Master B's knitted socks finished.

I really enjoy looking back over my weeks. Some weeks feel unproductive but when I look back at our photos and all that I did- its never just a quiet week doing nothing.

I am still busy knitting. I have started on socks for Master W. Master B has his hulk figurine hanging from the handle above his car seat- when I'm alone in the car the hulk is happily hanging above the car seat behind me.

Master W has some great expressions.

We had family come and stay. The boys loved it. We have some very special family memories. And after saying its been freezing dress for it being freezing- the whole week was WARM and windy.

I have many plants already with blossoms.

Got to love the faces Master B pulls!

August already! I am wondering where the year is going and reminding myself summer is getting closer.

School is back for term 3. The weather has been improving some but we are still using the fire every night.

We have had some very impressive sun sets with the sky glowing orange and shades of red/pink.

Sago enjoyed our walk at Brighton Beach. The boys also got much needed haircuts but since it was so cold at the trains I don't have a picture of the boys with their short hair.

knitting socks on two needles done!

I made a start knitting socks on 2 needles few months ago.

Once I found my knitting groove they started to grow quickly. I am now loving my stitch counter- makes counting so much easier!!

I had to change needle sizes after I turned the heel (figured this out once I have finished one sock- had it stitched together and it was way to tight around the foot- argh!!!!) Turns out I knit with tight tension. The rib and all the way to the heel were perfect in the size 2 3/4mm needle and after the heel I changed to a size 3 1/4mm needle.

I have also adjusted my knitting technique (the way I hold my needles while knitting/purling) thanks Nana! who would have thought a simple adjustment of technique would make such a difference in my speed and efficiency.

I'm so glad I made the adjustment and finished the socks cause they fit and they are both exactly the same size!

Master B wouldn't adjust the socks and pull one up for the photo. They are just adorable with one not quite pulled up.

I've now made a start on Master W's socks and have started them on the 3 1/4mm needles from the beginning. Off to knit one row, purl one row.

I'm sure you have noticed the change in my blog. I am really enjoying the new more modern me.

This has been a long time coming. Last year I created a stamp from vista print for making my own cards. At the time it was awesome, effective and really cheap.

I ordered on line from moo.com mini cards and they are adorable! I have 4 different images in the back and the same image on the front of all 100 cards.

The fabric with the image was from spoonflower.I created my own labels by creating my own fabric. I only ordered a fat quarter to see how printing would turn out. I plan on making another order and tweaking a few things.
