A weekend in Arthurs Pass

It was so nice to get away from Christchurch with friends for a night. 6 adults and 6 kids.

 The boys were expecting to arrive to snow on the ground......but the closest we got was ice on the side of the road on our way inland *insert disappointment here*

Springfield was a mandatory stop with photos taken with the large donut.

We went on many walks but they all seemed to get side tracked by a river, rocks and water.

We all had so much fun. 

I had to set limits to the amount of stones and rocks the boys wanted to bring home.

On our journey home the sun came out and we stopped at castle rock.

It was a great weekend away.

Watching: Scrubs- all 9 seasons

Hoping: all the Lego gets packed away sometime soon

Needing:  cooperative children more often

Smelling: jonquils from my garden 

Wearing: sunnies and woolly hats at the same time

Following: the weather forecast....waiting for snow

Noticing: how beautiful everything looks frosted 

Knowing: lots now I've completed my Level 1 football coaching course

Thinking: how awesome it would be if it didn't rain tomorrow.

Feeling: Proud when Master B walks the dog

Admiring: how wonderful my husband is

Buying: birthday and Christmas presents

Getting: excited about the arrival of my niece in the next month or so

Bookmarking: possible quilt ideas

Opening: mail

Giggling: at my "fortunes" being told by the boys with their handmade origami fortune teller 

Feeling: tired

Polaroid Quilt

I love making quilts for babies. 

When Holly announced she was expecting we chatted about a theme with her suggestions consisting of fat stripes, nautical/ ocean, whales and stuff.

I looked through may stash and noticed I didn't have anything nautical. I asked a few fellow crafters and they were more than happy to gift me some fabric.

I mostly used fabrics from my stash.

The quilt has now made it safe and sound and being enjoyed by its tiny and adorable new owner
