Today Master B turns six. 6 years old! I blogged about his 5th Birthday last year.

Master B 1 day old

My baby is now a six year boy who is so creative and full of life and so very brave!I am savoring the hugs and kisses and hand holding for as long as possible.

I feel so very proud of him.
He is a wonderful big brother (when they don't want the same thing at the same time)

He brings so much laughter and becoming so much like Mr B in personality

He is my adorable cheeky monkey

And so funny when he pulls faces in photos

and looks adorable when trying not to pull a face

He can also be so serious and grown up

He is also very adventurous and brave.

We are so very thankful to have this bright fun ball of energy in our family!

Happy 6th Birthday Master B. We love you. Enjoy your new bike and please don't grow up to quickly.

fabric + crochet

I brought fabric to start this quilt from The Make cafe

I found some cotton yarn from Knitworld

I found this quilt for inspiration.

and made a start with 5 1/2'' blocks and sewing the cotton thread into the block before top stitching it closed

here are the 7 different fabrics

This one of my few attempts to get the corners nice and consistent....

but I have now settled on this.....

Getting the pile down slowly and now to decide how to join them together with the pink!

Today we take a minutes silence and I try and hold back tears as we remember back to the day when for me it was so very scary. I recalled that day in this blog post -all those memories and feelings.

Today 2 years on I feel sad. Sad for the loss of loved ones many others experienced, sad for the loss of property, homes and workplaces, sad for the loss of normal and safe, and now that sad is turning to frustration and anger as 2 1/2 years on we still have a daily detours and house that looks like we have had earthquakes and feeling stuck in limbo land and anger as they say after waiting 2 1/2 years for action from insurance and eqc who say well last year we would have paid for this and that but we don't any more and anger they are just doing a patch up job and not really fixing anything long term.

So today I feel sad and today I also feel so very blessed and thankful I have my family and all those near and dear to me. I remember the strength of communities and friendships who have helped, listened, laughed and cried together and so very aware of the resilience of my children and all those I know.
